Pakistan earns $ 419 million from exporting IT services
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan earned $ 419.992 million providing various information technology (IT) services in various countries in the first two months of fiscal year 2021-2022. This shows a growth of 46.32% from the US $ 287.030 million earned through the provision of services in the corresponding period of fiscal year 2020-21, reported PBS. During the period under review, IT services grew by 40.06%, from $ 223.200 million in the previous year to $ 312.612 million in July-August (2021-22). Among computer services, exports of software consulting services increased by 56.19%, from $ 72.681 million to $ 113.517 million, while exports of hardware consulting services also increased by 568.83 %, from $ 0.077 million to $ 0.515 million. Exports and imports of computer software-related services also increased by 29.01%, from $ 57.012 million to $ 73.552 million, while exports of repair and maintenance services jumped to $ 0.192 million. against $ 0.071 million. In addition, exports of other computer services increased 33.72%, from $ 93.359 million to $ 124.836 million. At the same time, exports of information services during the period under review increased by 110.42%, from $ 0.480 million to $ 1.010 million. Among news services, exports of news agency services increased 224.89%, from $ 0.233 million to $ 0.757 million, while exports of other news services also increased. 2.43%, from $ 0.247 million to $ 0.253 million.
Exports of telecommunications services also saw an increase of 67.91%, from $ 63.350 million to $ 106.370 million in the year under review, the data revealed.
Among telecommunications services, exports of call center services increased by 36.02% during the period, with their exports increasing from $ 19.892 million to $ 27.058 million, while exports of other Telecommunications services also grew 82.50%, from $ 43.458 million to $ 79.312 million during the period.
