The TTK group is a Rs. 2,500 crore company with 30 categories of products and services. The Group has 16 manufacturing units, employs around 6,000 people and exports products to all continents. TTK Healthcare Limited is a leading healthcare products company with business interests spanning pharmaceuticals, consumer products, medical devices, protective devices, and food companies.

According to Srikanth R, VP-Systems, TTK Healthcare, the company is gradually transforming its organization into a digitally driven business.

From an IT perspective, the manufacturer seeks to develop and deploy all new applications with a cloud-first approach.

“Because before, when most of our applications were running on-premises, we frequently faced accessibility and availability issues due to factors like unexpected power outages, network outages, etc. End-of-month processing was a challenge as our systems could not handle the huge spike, resulting in performance issues. This in turn would delay the generation of business critical reports, ”Srikanth said.

With the cloud, according to Srikanth, TTK Healthcare has overcome these challenges. All operational systems are now closely linked to back office systems, so there is only one source of information. This process helps make quick decisions and reduces the need to reconcile data later.

“For example, we use Oracle EBS (ERP) in all of our verticals, we have integrated all of our operations / systems with Oracle EBS. Our quarterly and monthly closings and activity reports are now very fluid and all management reports are available on time to enable better, faster and smarter business decisions, ”said Srikanth.

Before deploying Oracle’s ERP, the company evaluated a number of cloud providers, but found that Oracle Cloud Infrastructure offered the best flexibility to literally lift and move an application / workload running on it. site to the cloud, according to Srikanth.

“As a result, we can retain the deep customization we have made to key business applications over the years based on our core business needs. The application architecture in OCI has reduced the need for our end user requirement to have a dedicated MPLS network. OCI has also helped improve the level of data redundancy to maintain backup, with the ability to launch new instances and scale quickly in the event of a disaster or crisis, ”he added.

Simplify business processes

Several business processes, such as internal order processing, used to be very cumbersome. Every day, the manufactured and purchased goods are shipped by the Logistics team to different regional warehouses based on requisitions submitted by the sales teams.

Previously, these dispatch requests were exchanged by e-mail and on paper, and were entered manually into the system.

“Due to the volume of these manual transactions, we frequently encountered delays, user input errors and user dissatisfaction. So we automated the entire end-to-end process through file downloads, reducing it to one step for users. This simplified the process of transferring goods to regional warehouses, ”he argued.

The company is now focused on automating and simplifying business processes. Other such processes that have been automated include stock transfers to multiple locations based on demand, the return to vendor process, and general purchasing launches.

“Overall, this push towards advanced automation has resulted in improved business user productivity, reduced errors and improved end user satisfaction,” he said.

Srikanth also believes that staying nimble is the most important virtue of the New Normal. “From an IT perspective, only a hybrid IT approach, with the cloud as a key element, can help us quickly readjust our strategies to changing market dynamics and maintain our competitive edge.
